La participation de Magnus Olsson

Hi!

Got some time to make a recording on the BT myself today.
I’m in the middle of recording slide guitar so the guitar was setup with 0.11 strings and very high action, so my fingers hurt from trying to play normal stuff on it.
I only had time for 2 or 3 takes on it, so it is far from perfect, but no excuses, we are not better then the stuff that comes out.

I did get inspired by some of your stuff, so I decided to go for a mixolydian rock style solo (it was too hard to play fusion style with the heavy strings on the guitar).
It was actually very hard to not have all your great playing in my head so it was hard to get a clear view of what to play.

I recorded with my MO1 Ibanez in to a Peavey Prowler amp (no boxes used), recorded dry and added a little delay in the mix.

I did have to do a punch in at 00:43 because I broke a string. Very annoying, I wanted it to be one take. But that’s the way it is, stupid guitars.

/Magnus

Hello Magnus
Don't be afraid for the cow ... it's a "self seen picture" ! (Virtual pic)

i'm really happy if you like it ! i has tried to play with my knowledges and my feel ... as you ask in a post on the forum : "play with your feel : no tab . no grid !"
and it's the result : some "good" licks and another less !
i has jumped the 6/4 ... too harder for me. The nex time ! i hope !!

yo ! i'ts a really hate for chorus FX ...
A real rule of thumb for you ! (and not a really good choice for me ... i agree !!!) i has many problems with my guitars & devices ...

for finish, i'm impressed for your availability and your kindness ... the mark of the better !
("pas la grosse tête" en français et ça : c'est super !!!)

Thanks Magnus for your back track, your great take and the emulation who's push all guitarists of glive to be more better ! and i'ts a success !!!

Bravo à toi & bravo à tous !!!

PS : in the future i'll remember of your remark for the chorus fx before select it ... ;-) . sorry for my english ! poor ... like my play sometimes ...

Hello Magnus,
And thanks for your post, finally! Ireally loved the staight forwardness of your playing and the technique without swagger serving the musicality. Indeed, your playing has a certain maturity that i like a lot. I'm just a small guitarist whithout any presumptuousness but, mother nature gave me a rather good ear for detecting imperfections, even from great players. Honestly,I can't find any flaws in your playing, you have an amazing fluidity,I'm positively surprised by the windom in your playing! Congratulations,I had a great time listening to you and I kept your recording in my archives. Thanks to you for being on the forum and for the quality of your soul, from what I could translate.
I hope we'll see you again for another challenge for our great pleasure! See you soon!
Vil coyote.

allright maybe you are near to win the di-marzio pickup....LOL

I like more the first part of your solo (maybe because this sounds like the part is easy to play on)...but this doesn't mean that I don't like the second part...it is just a preference....

I can't say much except that was a pleasure to hear that one and this just give me some more energy to continue working on my play...LOL

well done...

What can I say ? "holly shit, man, you suck !". Just kidding !
When you told me my legato technique is good, who were you kidding ? Yours is just phenomenal ! I approched this BT thinking I should play a major mode on that to give it....I don't know...a little punch, some agressivity I couldn't get from a minor scale. Beginner's stuff. When I hear what you played, with all the musicality you've unleashed and all... I'm on my butt ! Very very musical ! Intonation and everything. It's beautifully played, no tricks, no fancy stuff, just plain straight great playing. I mean your legato phrases are going postal after 0.43 ! Funny thing it doesn't even sound like fast playing, but I just tried it on my axe, and wouaff you're breaking Einstein's laws on relativity here !

Once again, thank you so much for your BT, for being such a nice guy and hanging around with us and for sharing your thoughts and all....
